This essential oil truly is one of my favorites. There is nothing quite so refreshing, happy and uplifting as the scent of a fresh cut lime - which is what this essential oil smells like. It is cold-pressed from the rind so of course it smells just like that. The rind is where pesticides collect, so we are very picky about offering only organically grown citrus essential oils. There are many uses for this oil and lots of research that verifies the properties we've mentioned above. We don't advocate constant and frequent use of the internal intake of citrus oils, but in moderation and properly emulsified with something like honey, they do taste good and have some benefit. All citrus oils are, however, solvents - which is why you see the lemon and orange cleaners in the grocery store aisles. I love to blend orange, lemon, lime and pink grapefruit essential oils and use them in all of my cleaning products. See our blog about pink grapefruit here, much of which also applies to lime because it is also high in d-limonene.
See the information about safety and cautions as this oil does have phototoxic properties. We also carry steam distilled lime essential oil which is NOT phototoxic and has more of the essence of a lime lollipop. It has unique but somewhat different properties than the cold-pressed. We use the cold-pressed in our Fresh Lime Soap and our Bergamot & Lime bath and body products. We are careful with the concentration of our essential oils in these products and have done our homework to make them safe. With a wash-off product, there is little to no concern, but with the cream, we do suggest you not put it on and then go out into the direct sunlight or a sunbed for at least 12 to 24 hours.
One of our newest products after years of experimenting and testing. We LOVE this sulfate-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, petrochemical-free, very nice sudsing shampoo. Made with over 70% certified organic ingredients, it does definitely add highlights and health to every head that it comes into contact with. Pictures coming soon, but wanted to get it at least with a link in order to announce its arrival. This dual purpose shampoo and shower gel contains all of those herbal ingredients that we use in all of our products - organic calendula, chamomile, aloe vera and many others. Take a look at the conditioner also - FULL of awesome ingredients for those of us who really want a natural and organic product without the ubiquitous pesticides and hormones found in even certified organic products - go figure.
]]>We have quite a few customers who use our soap because it does clean nicely, but doesn't strip those precious oils from your skin. This new addition to our soaps is even better at that because it has real coffee grounds for additional deodorizing and grease cutting. And if you like the smell of pecan pie and coffee - you will love this one.
Handcrafted using fresh organic lemon zest and fresh organic cold-pressed lemon (Citrus limonum) essential oil. Lemon essential oil has well-researched immune-enhancing properties and the organic fresh lemon zest adds gentle exfoliating properties. Made the old-fashioned way that uses only natural and organic ingredients that naturally retains glycerin. Don't be fooled by those triple-milled, high dollar soaps that are a mix of synthetic ingredients. Take time to read your labels - your skin will thank you. We use ONLY certified organic shea butter, coconut oil and olive oil - all very skin healthy, nurturing, hydrating. We use only organic botanicals rather than chemical dyes, which also add beneficial antioxidant properties to each and every bar.
]]>These are so perfect for kids' rooms, clinic settings and nursing homes. Use in bedroom for more productive sleep. Day Care Centers - perfect way to keep bacteria under control. Available in either black, white or silver - choose color below. If you don't have a preference use "default".
You will want one in every room of your house! Small enough to not take up a lot of counter space, but powerful enough to diffuse a medium sized room. No glass or tubes to clean. Safe to use in children's room or around elderly. Diffuse your favorite essential oil blends easily, safely and quietly. Convenient night light that can be turned on and off depending on your preference. The grandkids love the light, but my husband hates it. He was using duct tape to cover the light until the manufacturer started making these with an on/off switch for the night light!
]]>As are all of our soaps, this one is made in small fresh batches - especially important when working with citrus essential oils. We use only fresh cold-pressed and organic citrus essential oils because although they are quite powerful in many ways with a long list of health benefits - see our blog - they are also prone to oxidation, which renders them not only NOT beneficial but potentially harmful. You will enjoy the refreshing, uplifting and immune-enhancing properties of this particular bar of soap.
We spent a week (well almost and our first vacation in 7years -
check it out on our Facebook page) at a lake in Minnesota this September
(2012) and there were fir trees all around our deck that overlooked the
lake. I experienced the most amazing calm and peacefulness and I could
not stop smelling the air! I attributed it at first to the beautiful
view of the lake and then remembered my research into the essential oil
that exudes from these trees. Interestingly enough, I was also reading
Kurt Schnaubelt's new book, The Healing Intelligence of Essential Oils,
at the same time where he discusses some studies done on loggers. So - I
knew then that I had to make a soap using fir needle. I ended up
working with two different types of fir needle and I added some
certified organic Scotch Pine and Himalayan Cedarwood to round out the
scent. It really did turn out every bit as good as I had hoped! I really
think you will like this one.
This is THE oil to turn to for inflammed arthritic joints, bones, bruises, contusions or just sore muscles. We've written more about this oil, its constituents and some research attributing these properties to this infused/macerated oil. This is not an essential oil - this is a fixed carrier oil. The Arnica montana flowers are certified organic and we've infused them for at least 3 weeks at low steady temperatures to insure that these proven benefits are retained. See our blog here for more information.
We use this oil along with the organic infused oils of calendula, chamomile, helichyrsum and St. John's Wort in our Spicey Muscle Oil (along with a very well-researched and effective blend of warming essential oils.

Very nice blend of cinnamon, orange, apple and pine, all of which bring back memories of Christmas from the past. We've added the powerful antibacterial oil of Cinnamon Bark - just a touch, but just enough. Match with our Christmas Spice soap. A bit different than last year's Christmas Spice and very much better. For a good picture of this soap, take a look at our Facebook page where we've highlighted all of our Christmas 2011 soaps.
Check back soon as we complete additional information on this oil and others as we also continue to do research on essential oils. Check our Essential Oil Database currently under construction.

I'm not sure why this is more common, but we do know that sugar, refined carbs such as white rice and packaged/processed foods feed yeast. As always, what you put IN your body is even more important than what you put ON your body. However, this blend has proven to be very effective in controlling and stopping the signs and symptoms of yeast overgrowth and Candida. The research shows that Dill Weed Oil alone kills several different types of mold. Please email me at annrn@wingsets.com if you'd like a copy of this research.

Skin-soothing organic aloe vera and witch hazel base that doesn't leave a sticky, uncomfortable residue as other insect repellents do. The natural essential oils have been researched and proven to be effective by organic farmers and aromatherapy professionals who prefer a natural choice that is DEET-free. This blend has been used all over the world and has been proven effective. It was used by the Bell South workers after Katrina as they restored telephone service to the area months following the hurricane.
Please note the following concerning EPA registration numbers as our product contains exempt ingredients:
Registered or Exempt Pesticides: Under FIFRA, any product making a pesticidal claim must be registered with EPA, in order to review products for reasons of human health and environmental safety. An exception to this rule exists for products based on certain active ingredients (the “25b list,” named for that section of FIFRA), which are considered minimum risk products. These products will not have an EPA registration number, and usually have a statement to the effect that “the manufacturer represents that this product qualifies for exemption from FIFRA.” For exempt pesticides, all inert ingredients must be on EPA List 4A, and must be disclosed on the label. Many exempt products, but not all, meet the requirements of the USDA National Organic Program.

]]>Molded soaps are often and usually made from synthetic ingredients using what in our industry is known as “Melt & Pour”. What that means is, the soap is purchased in block form from the supplier and the soapmaker melts the soap and pours it into the molds. Quick and easy. I used to do that, but now I wanted something better. I still wanted my cold-processed organic soap to be in a molded shape! Well, it can be done – but not easily and/or quickly. You won’t find a melt and pour that’s made with 100% certified organic butters and oils, but we are offering it here. I love the different molds that are available and we have a vast supply, but making a molded soap using the cold-processed, handmade, way is a little bit more difficult and time-consuming. We thought it was worth the effort though for Valentine’s Day. We’ll offer special molded soaps for other seasons as well. We’re also offering it with a special Valentine’s Day phthalate-free fragrance – Love Spell (Type). Yes, it’s a Victoria’s Secret “smell-alike” and we have to call it a “type” because they have the name patented. Our fragrance, according to a couple ladies who worked there, is “right on duplicate” of that popular fragrance. It has often been our best seller at trade shows.

]]>What's new about our all purpose herbal balm? Well, we've added certified organic unrefined (high oleic) Avocado oil, a particularly nurturing oil for the skin. We are now using certified organic food grade Avocado oil, unrefined, not the cosmetic grade that other cosmetic companies might use - and that actually we used to use. Why did we change? Because the unrefined retains all of those natural vitamins A, B1, B2, D and E. It also has sterols, lecithin and other essential fatty acids that are lost in the refining process. These are properties we need to impact the health of our skin. Is this certified organic, unrefined oil more expensive? Yes, it certainly is, but for now we can absorb the cost and keep the price of this very effective healing balm the same as we have for probably five years. Check out our ingredients' information data base to find out just exactly what that means - if you're interested. This oil has a long history of being particularly helpful to those with skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea - or just dry, thirsty skin! When we opened the container of the new unrefined avocado oil it was amazing and we knew it was worth the extra cost - very dark, rich green and thick. We have in the past used cosmetic grade which was colorless, odorless and thin and, frankly, we just weren't satisfied with that. We think you'll notice the difference. We certainly did.
This all-purpose balm also includes certified organic Chamomile, Calendula and Helichrysum flowers infused in certified organic high oleic sunflower oil. We’ve began infusing our own oils several years ago as we became concerned at what temperature our suppliers may be infusing their oils. I have no idea - they may or might not be taking the extra time and effort to keep the temperatures low and for longer periods of time to enhance and protect nature's beneficial properties that are lost with high temperatures and extra refining. So - we do it ourselves - now we know it's done like we want it done. By doing this we know that the oil has been infused at the most effective process possible to extract and retain as much of the beneficial properties as we can - the energy of the plants. We go above and beyond the norm and infuse the oil longer and at lower temperatures.
Calendula is an important folk medicine plant, often used for treating inflamed tissue. During the Civil War, doctors used calendula leaves to treat open wounds on the battlefield. Calendula flower is among the most soothing of herbs for salves. Herbalist Aviva Romm, author of Natural Healing for Babies and Children (Crossing Press, 1996), uses it along with chickweed (Stellaria media), plantain (Plantago spp.), comfrey (Symphytum officinale) and chamomile (Matricaria recutita) to soothe children’s skin. There is a study of calendula for wounds that showed it to noticeably stimulate physiological regeneration and skin healing. We've taken out the comfrey leaf and root botanicals simply because of some controversy and frankly we're just not sure if it's justified or not - so we just figure we have enough good stuff in this jar that it doesn't need "iffy" stuff. I personally love comfrey and will continue to use it, but I understand and love ingredient readers who do their research - that's why we are a business and that's why we started making our own products.
