This oil must be fresh as it oxidizes easily and is no longer therapeutic and can be an irritant. The current and historical literature, as well as research studies, give us reason to believe we can expect this particular essential oil (if pure and fresh - which ours is), to do the following:

 

• Analgesic and especially soothing to sore tight muscles and rheumatic pain
• Excellent for inflamed bronchials and bronchitis, coughs and colds
• Generally a great deodorant and especially good for refreshing the air
• Disinfectant and good when used in soaps and perfumes
• Native Americans used the tree gum for treating wounds
• Antibacterial
• Shirley Price tell us this oil is a useful urinary antiseptic
• Also considered to be a neurotonic and helpful for depression and stress
• Antifungal, especially against Candida albicans
• Antiparasitic
• Antispasmodic

• Salvatore Battaglia relates that it is good for anxiety and stress with a "grounding effect"

These particular oil consists mainly of the essential oil constituents of α-pinene and β-pinene, which contribute to the very beneficial properties attributed to this oil. 

INGREDIENTS:
Freshly steam distilled oils of Balsam fir (Abies balsamea), Siberian Fir ((Oleum abies siberica), Silver fir (Abies alba), and Scotch Pine ((Pinus sylvestris). Wild-grown and unsprayed.

USES/SAFETY:
This oil must be fresh as it oxidizes easily and is no longer therapeutic and can be an irritant. This oil is not to be confused with the Canada balsam, an oleoresin from tapping the trunk.
