Green Rooibos Tea - Certified organic, Fair Trade certified

Rooibos tea has become much more popular since we first included it as a vital part of the ingredients in our creams. We read that the green rooibos has even more antioxidants than the regular red rooibos. Rooibos tea in general is said to have over 50 times more active anti-oxidant properties then green tea. We also use green tea in our creams. The rooibos we purchase is caffeine free. They tell us that it is full of those important, hard to find, naturally occurring trace elements. It also contains substantial amounts of the important nutrients of iron, potassium, magnesium, zinc, calcium and Vitamin C, as well as natural alpha-hydroxy acid, which is known to promote healthy skin. Grown in the mountains of South Africa, this particular ingredient has been researched quite a bit. Some of the things they've discovered is that it is very effective for skin issues such as rosacea, eczema, diaper rash and acne and has a soothing effect on the skin. Most notably, and why we include it in so many of our facial products and body creams, is that rooibos is considered to also have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. It came to our attention when Japanese scientists found that Rooibos tea contains a mimic of the enzyme Super Oxide DismItutase (S.O.D.), an antioxidant which attacks the free radicals and limits their damaging effects.
