$15.50

100% pure Ginger Root (Fresh) essential oil (Zingiber officinale), organic

Country of Origin – Indonesia
Pure, undiluted, aromatherapeutic

Steam distilled from the organic fresh root

Lot #810120 - see current lot GC/MS under description tab

  • Known to improve circulation and blood flow. You can also use fresh ginger root, chop about 4 Tbsp of fresh ginger, seal it in a cotton muslin bag or cheesecloth and place bag under warm running bathwater. Fresh ginger, grated, rather than the essential oil is far superior in taste and benefits if using in a tea

  • Odor profile far superior than steam distilled dried root. This batch in particular smells more like the culinary fresh ginger root I use in my chai tea and curries. So many essential oils do not smell like the plant/root itself. This one does, although a bit softer.

  • One of the most used for muscle, bone or nerve pain relief would be ginger, as well as plai, nutmeg, helichrysum, and black pepper. See our Muscle Soothe blend and our Spicey Muscle Oil.  Ginger oil was shown in a study to show "significant improvement" in back pain. Click here

  • For motion sickness either carry a bottle of the ginger essential oil and sniff it from a tissue, use it in a car diffuser (coming soon to our website), or try crystallized or pickled ginger, all of which have been shown to work better than other over-the-counter medications at preventing and treating motion sickness.

  • Often used to treat nausea in pregnancy or chemotherapy. My first suggestion would be fresh ginger, but the essential oil works very well for this. See our blog here concerning this issue

  • Shirley Price says that ginger essential oil is helpful for localized pain, analgesic for rheumatism and a potent anti-inflammatory oil.

  • Gabriel Mojay in his classic book, "Aromatherapy for Healing the Spirit", tells us that if yang energy is deficient, one is likely to feel chilly, tired, and unmotivated and will benefit from warming, invigorating essential oils such as rosemary and ginger.

  • He further says that there are oils that promote the circulation of blood, stimulate digestive "fire" and counteract rheumatic pain of a cold, fixed, contracted nature.

  • Ginger essential oil is a "powerful rubefacient for rheumatic pain" and "helpful also for relieving lower backache, mainly when associated with muscular fatigue."

  • Battaglia says it is analgesic, antispasmodic and rubefacient. "A massage blend with ginger makes an effective warming massage oil for swellings caused by fluid retention or for rheumatism." He also considers it helpful for clearing bruises. He tells us that studies confirm the anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties of ginger in rheumatic disorders and migraine headaches.

  • 5, 10 ml and 15 ml sizes available in amber glass bottles with safety dropper cap

INGREDIENTS: Pure, undiluted, unadulterated essential oil of steam distilled fresh ginger root (Zingiber officinale)

SAFETY/USAGE: For usage, please see top of page. Gabriel Mojay suggests a blend of ginger, Roman chamomile, coriander (one of my new favorites) and orange. I think I might substitute mandarin for its relaxing properties. In fact, I think I'll use this blend in my diffuser tonight to help with sleep and think it sounds pretty amazing - I'll let you know.

There are no safety considerations for this essential oil other than it can be a skin irritant if not diluted sufficiently. If you have sensitive skin, aged or damaged skin, it's always a good idea to test a small area diluted at 1% to start out with.

TESTIMONIALS: We have had so many amazing testimonials for our Spicey Muscle Oil so take a look at those. If you try our ginger essential oil, please leave a comment on our Facebook page or email ann at annrn@wingsets.com. We'd appreciate that very much.
