This serum has a very high concentration of Vitamin C esters – the only kind that your skin can actually absorb and use. The Vitamin C esters create a unique and powerful synergy with the other vitamins, such as E, and extracts included in this blend. Other vitamin C products you might see on the market contain water-soluble vitamin C (ascorbic acid), which is not able to penetrate the surface of the skin as it repels water-soluble substances. Water-soluble vitamin C when used as a supplement can be helpful indeed, but as a skin-care product you will need a lipid-soluble ester of Vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate) in order to protect skin cells and skin tissue.

Well, I have to be completely honest - this cream was formulated originally and continues to be - for me. I have very dry and sensitive skin (as well as rosacea) and absolutely nothing on the market worked. This is THE ONE you have to have in your skin care regimen.  The texture reminds me of Greek yogurt, except there is no odor or tartness to this cream, and it simply melts away all traces of make-up without drying out your skin.  Use every other day or every third day and it does all those wonderful things that alpha-hydroxy acids are supposed to do. It dissolves that old, dead layer of skin and leaves you with soft, clean, healthy skin.  We have found with experience that the small percentage of alpha hydroxy acids, like our 5-6%, when used every 2 to 3 days can be much less harsh on your skin and actually more effective. There is no issue of "recovery time" except that we recommend you avoid bright sunlight up to about an hour or two after using. Which is why I usually use this at night before going to bed or before a special evening occasion. Intuitively I personally cannot stress my skin to the degree that it is stressed with the high percentage AHA's which can only require my immune system to go into high gear and free radicals to run amok. This cleanser actually adds antioxidants to fight free radicals already rampant in our environment.
